AusNOG Membership FAQ

Who can be a member of AusNOG?

There are no restrictions on who can join AusNOG, but the organisation focuses its activities on the Australian Telco / On Line industry.  If you don't work in the industry there's no point being a member.

Does it cost to be a member of AusNOG?

There is no cost to be a member of AusNOG.  However, as a member you agree to contribute up to $5 in the event that AusNOG was unable to pay it's bills.

There are different levels of membership.  How does that work?

AusNOG is a member based organisation that thrives on the participation of its members.  Our member structure is similar to that of a Frequent Flier program to reflect that.  Your member level is calculated based on your status on 1 Jan of each year and relfects the number of AusNOG events you have attended in the previous 5 years (or 6 years if one of the 5 includes 2020 when we couldn't run events due to COVID).  Member points are awarded for the events you attend, 100 points for each conference and 35 points for each .Local.  Member status is awarded based on those points :

Platinum 500
Gold 400
Silver 300
