AusNOG 2014 Survey results
As part of AusNOG 2014 we asked participants to provide feedback on the event.
For a couple of questions a slider was used and the participant was asked to respond as to whether or not they agreed with a statement relating to the event. The slider was equivalent to the following scale:
- Strongly disagree
- Disagree
- Mildly disagree
- Neutral
- Mildly agree
- Agree
- Strongly agree
The slider was initially placed in the neutral position and so there may be bias to it as it is not possible to detect if the participant actively selected that value or just ignored the question (and thus it took the default value).
In the graph the mean value of the responses is indicated by a thick red line. The orange shaded region represents the standard deviation around that mean value. A thinner black line indicates the median value.
33 individual responses were received.

Additionally the following comments were received:
- Food not as good as Melbourne.
- Lightning talks and peering forums good if content and presenters are relevant and the mix of content is right.
- Not too much of a fan of the Swissotel. Lunch was much worse this year than all previous years. Accommodation was also not as good as other venues.
- I'd like to see more presentations from the community, rather than vendors. A 50/50 split would be about right for me.
- Would be good if registration payment accepts Corporate AMEX.
- Great top is coverage and networking opportunities. Most sessions were well planned and cover the topics without going on too long
- Occasional for me not every year
- Loved ausnog 2014, look forward to going to Melbourne for next years conference
- Great event, as always! I would have thought the next one would be in Brisbane .... :)
- I enjoyed it, however encouraging "people" networking for those who have not attended before would be a great benefit - I enjoyed a lot of the talks, but did not get a change to speak to anyone at the event
